2022 BMW X3 facelift leaks again ahead of unveiling

Less than two weeks after the first images of the new BMW X3 leaked, more pictures have been unearthed online.

The facelifted 2022 BMW X3 has again leaked online, ahead of its official unveiling next month.

BMW had planned to reveal the updated X3 in June 2021, but Spanish website Cochespias has uncovered the new-look SUV, with images appearing to come from inside BMW's Chinese manufacturing partner via local website Sina.

The images come less than a fortnight after BMW Spain accidentally published an official photograph of the X3 facelift – known in BMW parlance as 'Life Cycle Impulse'.

The front bumper is arguably more conservative than the current model's, and – in the Chinese market, at least – will be shared across petrol models and the fully-electric iX3. The M Sport package will offer a similar look to the bold front bumper found on the current M Sport, as seen on the earlier leaked photo.

BMW has chosen to join the front 'kidney' grilles at the middle, echoing elements of its more progressive design language found across its range.

Buyers will be able to option tinted headlights and black exterior trim pieces – though it's not known yet whether these will be available across the entire X3 line-up locally, or offered exclusively on the M Sport package.

The 2022 BMW X3 and iX3 is expected to be unveiled in June 2021.
