Porsche increases prices for Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, and 911

The German sports car maker has upped prices across its two-door and Cayenne model ranges in Australia.

Porsche has increased prices across most of its Australian line-up by up to $8500.

The changes apply to two-door sports cars, including the Boxster, Cayman, and flagship 911, as well as the Cayenne SUV.

A total of 34 models from the Porsche range have gone up in cost. Prices for the Porsche Macan small SUV remain unchanged for now.

The pricing changes relate to 2022 model updates, which CarAdvice understands includes upgrades to the Porsche Communications Management infotainment system, as well as paint options and other features. More information about the changes is expected in the coming weeks.

The iconic 911 has gone up by at least $4800 across the line-up, while the greatest change in dollar terms belongs to the Porsche 911 Turbo coupe, rising from $396,500 before on-road costs to $405,000 before on-road costs – an increase of $8500 or 2.15 per cent.

At the other end of the scale, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe has gone up in price by $2000, to $299,900 plus on-road costs.

Porsche is the latest German car maker to push RRPs higher in recent months, with BMW and Mercedes-Benz increasing prices independently on three separate occasions.

Given the stability in currency and exchange rate movements over this period, the prices rises are believed to have been driven by an increase in demand and a shortage of stock.
