A 2013 Bentley Mulsanne used to transport HM Queen Elizabeth II has sold in the UK just days after being advertised.

The Bentley, which was used between 2013 and 2015 at Buckingham Palace, was advertised for £179,850 (AU$322,000) on the UK site Pistonheads.

Despite being considerably more expensive than other comparable Mulsannes on the market, the vehicle sold very soon after being advertised – no doubt helped by its provenance.

An identical Mulsanne, also finished in Bernato Green with Twine Main Hide and Burr Walnut Veneer trim, resided at Her Majesty's Windsor residence, and sold in 2016 for £200,000 (AU$374,000 at the time).

The Mulsanne is powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 producing 377kW and 1020Nm – taking the 2711kg sedan to 100km/h from a standstill in 5.3 seconds.

As expected, the Queen's Bentley has been maintained to the highest standards, with an "impeccable service history" and approximately 3000km on the odometer.

The Royal Family's car collection is known to favour iconic British brands such as Land Rover, Aston Martin, and Bentley.

At the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral last month, HRH was transported in a Land Rover Defender 130 Gun Bus, which the prince helped to design.
