A Suzuki electric sports concept – known as the Misano – was unveiled overnight.
The two-seater's unusual off-centre seating layout places a single passenger directly behind the driver, while power and steering comes via a motorcycle-themed “control stick” handlebar which, according to the design team, “merges the adrenaline rush of two wheels, with the driving experience of four.”
The display vehicle – which was designed in conjunction with students from the IED Torino design school in Turin – appears to be nothing more than a balsa wood mockup for the time being, however the team that built it suggests a production variant would be powered wholly by electricity.
A large 'brick' battery pack can reportedly be housed in a expansive cavity to the right of the occupants.
According to Suzuki, the name Misano was chosen because it “sounds Japanese, but is also linked with Italian motorsport culture.” The concept is set to go on display at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile di Torino in Italy between May 15 to June 6.
