Final HSV Maloo GTSR ever built listed with near-$1 million price-tag
The high-performance V8 ute is looking to join a spate of sky-high sale prices achieved by Australian built vehicles in recent months.
The final HSV Maloo GTSR ever built has come onto the market in Western Australia, with an asking price of $958,000.
The high-performance ute (build plate 600 of 600) is listed by dealer Gardner Autos, which had the car delivered new in 2017.
Rather than selling it for the recommended retail price of $96,990 (plus on-road costd) when it arrived however, the Cannington-based dealership decided to sit on its appreciating asset for almost five years. By the seller’s estimation, it has increased in value by a factor of roughly 1000 per cent during that period.
Just 27km are on the clock, and the vehicle is yet to be registered.
Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine, and this sends 435kW/740Nm to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
This allows the 1825kg two-door behemoth to complete the 0-100km/h benchmark sprint in around 4.2 seconds.
The listing follows several record-breaking sale prices for Australian built vehicles in recent months. Earlier this year the ‘last’ Holden Commodore built sold to a private buyer for a reported $750,000 and, less than a week later, a HSV Maloo GTSR W1 sold for $1.05 million at auction.

Update: An earlier version of this story said the vehicle listed for sale came with its original three-year/100,000km warranty. It has the balance of any remaining warranty from the date the vehicle was reported as sold by the dealer.
