2021 Subaru WRX STI EJ25 Final Edition price and specs: Swan-song sedan arrives in Australia

A swan-song variant of the outgoing Subaru WRX STI – known as the WRX STI EJ25 Final Edition – has been revealed for Australia, priced from $62,440 plus on-road costs.

Over the $59,440 WRX STI spec.R variant on which it's based, the limited-run all-wheel drive sedan picks up 19-inch gold BBS aluminium wheels, silver Brembo brake callipers, an Ultrasuede (a branded product similar to Alcantara) steering wheel, Recaro seats, silver interior stitching, carbon fibre-look interior highlights, black door mirror covers, and a Final Edition engine cover plate.

It also gains a front grille pinstripe, silver interior seatbelts, black front quarter-panel trim, and custom badging.

Drive comes from the standard WRX STI's 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four, sending 221kW/407Nm to the road via a six-speed manual only.

Just 75 examples will make it to Australian showrooms, with 50 to be finished in WR Blue Pearl, 15 in Crystal White Pearl, and 10 in Crystal Black Silica.

Subaru Australia says it will sell 30 cars directly through its website, while the remaining examples will be distributed through the national dealership network.

An additional $1000 donation to the Australian Road Safety Foundation will allow buyers to have their new car personally delivered by a Subaru rally driver – either Molly Taylor, Cody Crocker, Mark Stacey or Dean Herridge will be available, depending on the buyer's location.
