  • Reshaped bumpers and new headlight designs across the range
  • Prices start from $42,900 before on-road costs

Australian pricing and specifications for the 2021 Audi Q2 have been announced, ahead of its local showroom arrival in May.

Three models will be offered with the facelifted Q2 locally – 35 TFSI, 40 TFSI and SQ2 – all bringing revised exterior styling, more efficient engines, and increased standard equipment to Audi's smallest SUV.

Opening the range is the aforementioned 35 TFSI, priced from $42,900 before on-road costs.

Power comes from a new-for-Australia 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 110kW and 250Nm to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The claimed 0-100km/h time is pegged at 8.6 seconds, while combined fuel use is rated at 5.2L/100km, the latter thanks to cylinder-on-demand technology that shuts down two cylinders under minimal load.

The 35 TFSI benefits from the styling upgrades applied across the updated range, including revised headlight designs, restyled lower front and rear bumpers, a reshaped Singleframe grille, and new alloy wheels.

Standard equipment on the entry-level model includes LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, contrasting bumpers and C-pillar, leather seat trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, an 8.3-inch infotainment screen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a 3.5-inch digital display between the analog instrument dials.

There's also keyless entry, push-button start, monotone ambient interior lighting, an eight-speaker sound system, DAB+ digital radio, and a tyre repair kit.

Standard safety features include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, manual cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure loss indicator, and six airbags.

Sitting in the middle of the range is the 40 TFSI Quattro S Line, priced from $49,900 before on-road costs.

Powering the mid-spec model is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 140kW and 320Nm to all wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling a 6.5-second 0-100km/h time, and a 7.0L/100km combined fuel economy claim.

Additional equipment over the entry-level model includes Audi Sport 18-inch alloy wheels, the S Line exterior design package, Audi drive select modes, body-coloured exterior trim, aluminium interior accents, front sports seats, an electric tailgate, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and paddle shifters.

Headlining the line-up is the performance-focused SQ2, priced from $64,400 before on-road costs. Click here to read pricing and specification details for that model.

Two optional packages are available for the 35 TFSI and 40 TFSI: Style and Premium.

The Style pack adds 19-inch alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, black exterior trim, and body-coloured lower bumpers and trim (if not featured as standard).

Meanwhile, the Premium package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-keep assist, semi-automatic parking, hill-hold assist, power-folding heated side mirrors, rear privacy glass, a 10-speaker sound system, a12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, and a auto-dimming rear-view mirror (where not already standard).

Up to 11 exterior colours and two interior combinations are available.

The updated 2021 Audi Q2 will arrive in Australian showrooms in May 2021.
