  • Prices cut by $4000 across the range before LCT and on-road costs
  • Standard equipment otherwise unchanged
  • Six to 10-week wait for new orders

Prices of the 2021 Tesla Model 3 have been cut by $4000, following previous price cuts in recent months.

Model 3 Standard Range Plus, Long Range and Performance variants continue to be offered, now priced from $62,900, $77,900 and $89,900 respectively, with all prices excluding on-road costs, order and delivery fees, and (where applicable) Luxury Car Tax.

Adding Luxury Car Tax changes the trio's prices to $62,900, $78,458 and $94,058 respectively before on-road costs, which include stamp duty, Tesla's $150 order fee, delivery fees, registration costs, CTP and 'premium' licence plates.

The latest prices are the lowest assigned to Tesla's entry-level model since it launched locally in mid-2019 – though the Performance was once offered for $85,000 before on-roads and LCT, albeit without the now-standard $6200 Performance Upgrade pack.

Standard equipment is otherwise unchanged, with the Standard Range Plus featuring 18-inch aero wheels, a 15-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, "upgraded" sound system, 12-way power-adjustable heated front seats, faux leather trim, power-folding and auto-dimming heated mirrors, a tinted glass roof, four USB-C ports, and wireless phone charging.

Tesla's 'Autopilot' driver assistance suite is standard, comprising adaptive cruise control, lane-centring assist, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring, plus a 360-degree camera and parking sensors.

Powering the entry-level model is a single electric motor on the rear axle and a circa-50kWh lithium-ion battery pack, enabling 508km of NEDC driving range, a 5.6-second 0-100km/h time, and a 225km/h top speed.

Stepping up to the Long Range adds a larger circa-80kWh battery pack and a pair of uprated electric motors, for 657km of NEDC range, a 4.4-second 0-100km/h time and a 233km/h top speed.

Additional standard features include 19-inch 'Sport' alloy wheels, LED fog lights, a 15-speaker (plus two amplifiers) premium sound system, interior floor mats, and heated rear seats.

Sitting atop the range is the Performance, powered by the Long Range's battery pack and two high-performance electric motors, cutting the range to 628km NEDC, but allowing for a 3.3-second 0-100km/h dash and a 261km/h top speed.

Features exclusive to the flagship include 20-inch 'Uberturbine' alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres, performance brakes (including two-piece discs), lowered suspension, a carbon-fibre rear lip spoiler, aluminium alloy pedals, and Track Mode.

The 2021 Tesla Model 3 is available now, with new orders placed as of publishing demanding a six to 10-week wait. Production recently moved to China for Standard Range Plus and Long Range models, with Performance production remaining in the US.
