2017-2020 Nissan Pathfinder tow bar recalled

All Pathfinders sold from 2017 to 2020 and fitted with a Nissan tow bar could be affected.

Nissan Australia has issued a recall of dealership-fitted tow bars for 2017-2020 (MY17-20) Nissan Pathfinder models.

The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), states a manufacturing issue may cause the tow bar to detach from the Pathfinder.

Nissan says the affected vehicles were sold between 1 December 2016 and 31 December 2020.

The affected Nissan Genuine Accessory items have the batch number '29 18', found on the tow bar's compliance plate.

A spokesperson for Nissan Australia has told CarAdvice the recall is purely precautionary.

A full list of vehicle identification numbers of the compatible cars involved in the recall can be found here.
