Victoria looking for new licence plate phrase

Recently elected Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu is looking to put his new Government’s stamp on the state’s four-wheeled fleet by changing the slogan on Victoria’s licence plates.

Mr Baillieu has invited all Victorians to send in their suggestions for the new phrase, which is to be used on new number plates and government documents from early next year.

News Limited reported Mr Baillieu was looking for a slogan that expressed the state’s “energy, common sense, future potential and core character”.

The outgoing slogan, ‘Victoria: The Place to Be’, was designed by an advertising agency at a cost of $90,000 to the Bracks Labor Government.

Previous Victorian licence plate catchphrases have included ‘Victoria: On the Move’ and ‘Victoria: The Garden State’.

Mr Baillieu stressed no taxpayer money would be wasted in phasing out the old slogan, and admitted the matter was not one of extreme priority.

What do you think? Can you come up with the next Victorian licence plate slogan?
