2021 Kia Cerato GT facelift leaked, interior revealed in new images

Another drop falls from the Kia Cerato facelift's leaking tap, this time providing our first look at its interior, and the flagship GT variant.

The 2021 Kia Cerato has leaked yet again, with the latest round of images revealing its cabin in full, and providing our first glimpse at the performance-focused GT.

New (albeit blurry) photos posted on the Bobaedream forum show the updated Cerato's interior will benefit from a selection of technological and design updates, including a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen in the centre of the dashboard, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (first revealed in assembly manual snippets last week), and a tweaked steering wheel wearing Kia's new corporate logo.

However, the twin 10.25-inch screens will be limited to more expensive Cerato models, with images of a lower-spec variant confirming more affordable models will feature a circa-8.0-inch central touchscreen – albeit integrated into the same enlarged surround as the 10.25-inch display, resulting in thick bezels – and a 4.2-inch digital driver's display between the analog instruments.

Over lesser grades, GT models will gain a unique flat-bottomed steering wheel with red GT badging, unique black sports seats, and red contrast stitching adorning the steering wheel, automatic gear selector and seat bolsters.

However, the angle and resolution of the leaked Cerato GT interior images means it remains unclear whether the flagship model will be offered with a sunroof – the lack of which on the pre-facelift model, if the reactions and comments of CarAdvice readers are any guide, is a key sticking point among potential buyers.

The forum post has also provided our first look at the updated Cerato GT's front-end (below), which will differentiate itself from 'regular' variants though similar means to its predecessor: red detailing on the lower air intakes, and a unique upper grille with red accents and GT badging.

The frequency of new leaked images suggests the 2021 Kia Cerato facelift's reveal is mere days or weeks away, given yesterday's spy photos of an undisguised blue sedan on a transport trailer suggests the first examples of the updated small car are already en route to Korean dealers.

An Australian launch will occur in May 2021.
