2011 Lexus IS F update launched in Australia

Lexus Australia has released the upgraded 2011 Lexus IS F sedan, with enhancements to the exterior and interior styling, colour schemes and suspension settings.

Lexus says the IS F’s suspension has undergone a significant retune to improve both high-speed stability and ride comfort.

The front coil spring rate and shock absorber damping force characteristics have been revised, as have the rear suspension spring and damper rates, camber angle, and suspension arm and stabiliser bush characteristics.

The result is a more stable rear end in the corners and reduced suspension member movement under hard acceleration and braking.

Inside, the IS F features an LFA-inspired instrument panel, including a large, central tachometer with illuminating rev indicator.

Standard daytime running lamps bring the IS F into line with the rest of the updated Lexus IS range, while the headlamp lenses are now blacked out.

Other changes include a new ‘Starlight Black’ exterior paint option, dark metallic engine cover, interior carbon fibre inserts, orange and black leather seating options and a revised driver’s seat and steering wheel.

The IS F is powered by a Euro V-compliant 5.0-litre V8 engine, which produces 300kW and 500Nm of torque.

Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the IS F accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds.

The 2011 Lexus IS F is available now for a manufacturer’s list price of $126,800.
