2022 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series interior revealed in leaked drawings

The next-gen 4WD's interior has emerged in new technical drawings, confirming a large touchscreen and the arrival of a GR-branded variant.

Technical drawings of the upcoming 2022 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series' interior have leaked.

Images published across multiple sources including Kurdistan Automotive Blog and Prado-Club showcase the next-generation LandCruiser's cabin in full, confirming the high-tech design cues seen in spy shots early in February 2021.

As with the exterior images published late last week, the crude technical drawings are only accessible by Toyota employees to assist in dismantling, fitting, and parts interpretation.

The images show a circa-12.3-inch, tablet-style infotainment touchscreen sitting atop the Toyota's dashboard, with physical buttons for off-road controls, climate controls and infotainment functions sitting below.

Joining the leaked dashboard image is a more detailed drawing of the 300 Series' individual interior switches, confirming the new four-wheel-drive will be available with everything from switchable front and rear differentials, to a low-speed crawling mode, and a second-gear start mode for the transmission.

A fuel-saving auto start/stop system will feature for the first time, while other functions including rear parking sensors, a power-operated single-piece tailgate, surround-view cameras and automatic headlights will be on offer.

The drawing also shows a range of engine start methods will be offered on certain variants, from a traditional key barrel to a modern push-button.

Of more interest is the presence of a GR-branded engine start/stop button, all but confirming Toyota's Gazoo Racing performance arm will have some influence on the new LandCruiser – most likely in the form of a visually-enhanced GR Sport variant, as rumoured throughout Japanese media, rather than a full-fat GR performance flagship.

The new images also show the 300 Series' body in full, connecting the front and rear images posted earlier in April 2021 with an evolutionary door design and windowline not dissimilar to the outgoing 200 Series.

Rumours out of Japan suggest the 2022 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series will be unveiled in full by the end of April 2021, with Australian and/or Japanese market launches expected in the second half of the year.
