Video: Lamborghini Gallardo vs Stuart Appleby’s golf ball

Fast cars and golf are a pretty good combination, and this is just about the perfect video heading into the weekend.

It answers the age-old question: ‘What is faster over 250 metres: a golf ball or a Lamborghini?’

It’s a battle between a Gallardo and a ball driven down the straight at Sandown Raceway in Melbourne by Australian golfer Stuart Appleby.

In his hand is the new Callaway Diablo Octane driver, which was developed in collaboration with Lamborghini’s research and development team.

Callaway says the new forged composite carbon construction allows the Octane to edge out the old club by an average of seven metres.

But the Lamborghini accelerates from 0-100km/h in under 3.7 seconds, and reached 220km/h by the end of the test.

The Lamborghini was given a rolling start for reasons that will become obvious when you watch the clip. No need for any more chit-chat, just have a look.
