2022 Nissan 400Z production model leaked

The 2022 Nissan 400Z has surfaced online, with images showing what is believed to be a production-ready version of the Japanese sports car.

Nissan has yet to officially unveil the production version of the 400Z, though it's believed to be very close to the Z Proto concept car shown in September 2020.

In terms of design, it appears to be faithful to the original concept vehicle. The car photographed features a new front lower spoiler that's larger than before. Its overall design has been ever-so-slightly sharpened too – likely to simplify mass-production efforts.

A horizontal design theme continues to dominate the rear, complete with a black tail-light housing that's reminiscent of the Nissan 300ZX of the 1990s, and a new lip spoiler not previously seen on the concept.

Inside, the twin-binnacle dash inspired by the original Datsun 240Z can be seen, alongside a gear selector for an automatic transmission and a manual handbrake.

A fully-digital instrument cluster and large central touchscreen shared with the Z Proto face the driver, with the steering wheel featuring a pair of metallic paddle shifters.

Recent spy pics show the new Zed will likely be powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, derived from the Infiniti Q60.

Information recently revealed in the Project Cars 3 video game suggests the mill's maximum power output could be as high as 331kW, with weight listed as 1475kg.

The 2022 Nissan 400Z is expected to be fully unveiled in the second half of this year, with vehicles expected to land in Australian showrooms in 2022.
