Video: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport off-roader shown off in new walkaround
The small off-roader – which comes with an inbuilt bottle opener – is priced from $28,500 (AU$35,700) in the US.
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport – and its array of clever features including an inbuilt bottle opener – have been shown off in a new walkaround video.
Already on sale in the US and priced from US$26,820 (AU$34,260) before delivery charges, the small to mid-size SUV features five off-road driving modes, wireless smartphone charging, a clever under-seat storage system, an integrated bottle opener, rear door-mounted flood lights, and 223mm of ground clearance.
It slots into Ford's off-road range below the full-size Bronco, which starts from US$28,500 (AU$35,700) for an entry-level, four-cylinder model.
The flagship Bronco Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, producing a claimed 186kW/375Nm. A 1.5-litre turbo three-cylinder is offered on lower grades, putting out a claimed 135kW/257Nm.
Both models send drive to all four wheels via an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. With the 2.0-litre powertrain, the 0-100km/h sprint takes a claimed 6.5 seconds.
The Ford Bronco Sport is only built in left-hand-drive, meaning an Australian launch is (currently) off the table.
