Mitsubishi Motors UK to auction heritage fleet

14 vehicles and numerous collectible private number plates set to be sold.

The UK-based subsidiary of Mitsubishi Motors has listed its heritage fleet for sale with auction house Auto Auction.

Set to be conducted virtually, the timed auction is planned to start on April 1 and run until the end of the month.

Up for grabs are 14 well-kept vehicles, alongside 36 private number plates that have appeared in Mitsubishi Motors UK promotional material.

A handful of Lancer Evolution rally heroes are set to steal the show, with a 2001 Lancer Evolution Tommi Makinen Edition being the highlight.

The highly-desirable 'Passion Red' example – with 10,000 miles on the clock – has been owned by Mitsubishi UK since new.

The first Mitsubishi ever registered in the UK is also being sold. The 1974 Mitsubishi Colt Lancer 1.4 took centre stage on the brand's 1974 British Motor Show stand, and has been well preserved since.

Other vehicles include a Starion Turbo, 3000GT, ex-rally cars and handful of classic Shogun (Pajero) off-roaders.

Mitsubishi are the not the first brand in European region to sell-off its historic vehicle collection. Last year, Peugeot also auctioned a portion of its heritage fleet.
