It's assisted by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with an integrated starter-generator units, capable of providing an additional 16kW/250Nm under heavy load.

Standard equipment on the luxury SUV includes fine nappa leather upholstery, a power-operated, tilting/sliding panoramic sunroof (with an opaque roller blind), heated and cooled massaging seats, a pair of 12.3-inch screens up front, and two 11.6-inch touchscreens for the rear seats.

A five-seat configuration is fitted as standard, while a four-seat layout can be optioned, with the latter enabling reclining outboard rear seats and the option of a fixed rear centre console with folding tables and an in-built refrigerator.

On the outside, large alloy wheels, a chrome pinstriped grille and Maybach badging are all included as standard.

Drive

Under the skin, selectable air suspension is standard, with buyers able to option a "fully-active" system with 48-volt active roll stabilisation (badged E-Active Body Control).

The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 4Matic will arrive in Australia in limited numbers from August.
