2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo wagon teased, Australian launch expected
The upcoming 2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo has been teased in camouflage, with product vice president Stefan Weckbach outlining the all-electric performance wagon's styling and features in a new video.
While powertrain details are yet to be confirmed, the Taycan Cross Turismo is all-but-certain to retain the twin-motor set-up offered in the 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S sedan variants (which develop 390kW, 420kW and 560kW respectively).
The same applies for the existing 79kWh and 93kWh battery pack options, allowing for real-world driving ranges between 365km and 420km.
Luggage space is expected to increase to 500 litres – up from 447 litres in the Taycan sedan – and the new teaser video also confirms roof rails will come standard for added practicality.
According to Mr Weckbach, the wagon has been configured for light off-roading – the suspension has been raised to improve ground clearance, while a CUV (cross utility vehicle) driving mode will also come standard.
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is set to be revealed on 4 March 2021. Drive understands the all-electric wagon will be offered in Australia, with the first local deliveries expected in 2022.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed, however, the entry-level 4S sedan starts at $190,400 plus on-road cost in Australia.
Assuming a price bump of approximately $15,000 for the wagon variant – as seen in the Panamera line-up – it's likely the cheapest Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo will be priced from approximately $205,000 plus on-road costs.
