You’re going to need a bigger… garage? 1974 Chevrolet K5 Blazer convertible up for auction

I know that Jaws isn't known specifically as a 'car' movie, but the 1975 thriller saw Amity Police Chief Brody patrolling the seaside town in a rather unique vehicle.

It was a 1974 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Convertible, in a delightful 'jersey caramel' colour scheme.

Granted, it wasn't a proper convertible – instead just a standard Blazer with the fibreglass hard-top removed – but it was pretty cool all the same.

If you remember the car as I do, then you'll be pleased to know there is one listed for sale on our favourite window-shopping portal, Bring a Trailer.

This Blazer has had a full restoration to the same spec as the 'Jaws' car, minus the red lights on the rollbar and Amity Police decals.

Power comes from a 350ci (5.7-litre) V8 lifted from a 1990 Blazer, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case driving either the rear or all four wheels.

The Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) top bolts on and off, so you can enjoy all manner of weather too!

We'd suggest rolling with the roof off in all weather, channelling Cheif Brody's swagger of "I Can Do Anything. I'm The Chief Of Police."

While not designed to be a specific replica of the Jaws Blazer, it is a near-identical spec and as such ticks the "I've seen that somewhere before" box.

Bidding has already tipped over US$34,000 (AU$43,000), so it's not a budget runabout, but if you're going to use it to patrol for sharks, it might be a good tax write-off!
