2020-2021 LDV Deliver 9 van recalled with brake fault

According to the manufacturer, the fault could lead to a loss of rear braking performance over time.

Ateco Automotive – the Australian distributor for LDV – has recalled 535 examples of its Deliver 9 commercial van, citing a potential fault with the braking system.

The affected vehicles were sold between July 2019 and February 2021 (Model Years 2020-2021).

The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear brake pipe may leak brake fluid.”

“If the rear brake pipe leaks, this may result in a loss of braking performance, which can increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users,” the notice continues.

CarAdvice has contacted Ateco Automotive for further comment on the hazard. This story will be updated with its response.
