Old country Holden dealership converted into a residence, offered for sale

Looking for somewhere to live with a bit of history, style, and plenty of car storage? We might have just the thing.

A former Holden dealership located in country NSW – which has been converted into a stylish home, complete with an office and workshop – is being offered for sale.

The site of the former Mackaness & Avery dealership was converted into a residence for the current owner, with a wood-panelled office/showroom, bedrooms, living room, kitchen and dining, and a large workshop with two hoists.

Mackaness & Avery eventually became Crookwell Autos, with the premises retaining old Holden signage, despite not having been in operation for a number of years.

The business traded as a Holden dealer since the early days of the Australian car maker, with newspaper advertisements and records dating back to the 1940s.

Located in the township of Crookwell, one hour north of Canberra and two and a half hours south-west of Sydney, the property offers its next owner a highly unique home, especially suited to car enthusiasts.

Pricing for the converted dealership has not been disclosed, but the new buyer could potentially secure it for less than the cost of a HSV GTSR Maloo W1 – one of which sold recently for $1.05 million.

The property is being offered by Ed Zammit at Peter Mylonas Property, and you can view it by clicking here.
