The original story continues below.
UPDATE, 2 April 2021: The 2022 SsangYong Musso facelift has leaked again, this time with marketing material for the updated ute appearing online.
The images posted to Autospy provide another look at the new Musso, complete with the large grille spotted in February, though badged by SsangYong as a Rexton Sports and the Musso XLV as a Rexton Sports Khan overseas.
It's the first time the updated rear-end has been seen, and while the tail-lights are slightly revised, the rear sports bar and more aggressive black plastic cladding added to the exterior hint at a higher-spec, sportier variant.
The appearance of some carbon-fibre trim inside also suggests it's a flagship version (click any of the images to view the full gallery). While the interior has seen some colour palette changes, it appears to largely carry-over the design of the current model, potentially with an upgrade to the infotainment system.
1 February 2021: The facelifted 2022 SsangYong Musso has leaked, revealing a fresh front-end for the dual-cab ute.
Badged as a Rexton Sports Khan in its home country of South Korea, the updated Musso XLV has been snapped at the SsangYong factory ahead of its official unveiling, with the images emerging on Autospy.
The photo follows another leak in late 2020, which showed the new look of the related SsangYong Rexton SUV.
Despite SsangYong's parent company in Korea filing for bankruptcy in late December 2020 – as well as the Tivoli and Tivoli XLV small SUV models being put on hiatus locally in July 2020 – sales of SsangYong models have seen a strong resurgence in Australia.

The dual-cab Musso enjoyed a sales increase of nearly 100 per cent in 2020 compared with 2019, sitting just behind the Mercedes-Benz X-Class in the saturated ute segment.
Powered by a 133kW/420Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder, the SsangYong Musso is the only dual-cab ute in Australia to offer a seven year, unlimited kilometre warranty, with pricing from $30,490 before on-road costs.
The facelifted Musso is expected to join the Rexton and Tivoli SUVs, which are both due for updates this year.
