2021 Maserati Levante price and specs

Italian SUV gains updated safety and connected technology suites, plus revised styling.

Pricing and specifications for the 2021 Maserati Levante have been announced.

Maserati's first SUV has received an array of tweaks and upgrades for Model Year 2021, bringing it into line with recent updates to its Ghibli and Quattroporte sedan range-mates.

Visual changes to the Levante comprise a tweaked front grille – trimmed in chrome on GranLusso variants, and black on sport-themed GranSport models – and 'boomerang' LED tail-lights similar in appearance to the aforementioned sedans.

Inside, the Levante misses out on the sedans' new 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreens, though its carry-over 8.4-inch unit picks up Maserati's latest Android Automotive-based infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and satellite navigation.

However, the SUV does gain an updated instrument cluster, with a pair of analog dials sitting on either side of a new 7.0-inch TFT driver display.

All MY21 Levante models also gain Active Driving Assist, which supplements the adaptive cruise control system to accelerate, brake and centre the vehicle within its lane on "any well-maintained road" at speeds of up to 145km/h.

Aside from the MY21 additions discussed above, standard equipment on the base Levante includes 19-inch alloy wheels, 12-way power-adjustable heated front seats, an electric tailgate, leather seat trim, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and front and rear parking sensors.

Levante GranLusso models add a unique front and rear bumpers with chrome inserts, body-coloured side skirts, unique 19-inch alloy wheels, an Ermenegildo Zegna interior (with silk seat inserts), soft-close doors, illuminated sill plates and black brake calipers.

Over base variants, Levante GranSport models add more aggressive bumpers with black accents, a sportier rear roof spoiler, red brake calipers, electrically-adjustable sports seats with memory functionality, a sports steering wheel, paddle shifters and metallic pedals.

GranSport grades also add a Harman/Kardon premium sound system, 20-inch alloy wheels, steel sill plates (sans illumination), traffic-sign recognition and Active Blind Spot.

All three models detailed above are fitted as standard with a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, sending 257kW of power and 500Nm of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Maserati claims a 6.0-second 0-100km/h time and a 251km/h top speed.

GranLusso and GranSport trims can be had in Levante S form, which sees the V6's outputs upped to 321kW and 580Nm, fed to the all wheels through the same eight-speed automatic gearbox. Maserati claims a 0-100km/h time and top speed of 5.2 seconds and 264km/h respectively.

All diesel variants have been axed.

Buyers keen for more power can opt for one of two V8 variants, the GTS and Trofeo.

Powering the GTS is a 410kW/730Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, mated to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive for a 4.2-second 0-100km/h dash and a 292km/h top speed.

Equipment additions for the GTS over lesser grades include a unique gear selector, the GranSport's 14-speaker Harmon/Kardon audio system and full leather trim in red, black, tan or beige.

Sitting atop the range is the Trofeo, powered by a 427kW/730Nm of the GTS's 3.8-litre turbo V8, capable of a 4.1-second sprint from zero to 100km/h, and a 302km/h top speed.
