2021 Ram 1500 DT Series Australian showroom arrival pushed to March

The Australian arrival of the new-generation Ram 1500 DT Series – officially imported by Ram Trucks Australia – has been delayed by two months as the company prioritises ‘Classic’ models.

The long-awaited 2021 Ram 1500 DT Series pick-up from the US has had its Australian showroom arrival pushed back by two months.

A confidential bulletin issued late last year informed dealers they could expect the first examples of the 2021 Ram 1500 DT Series to arrive in showrooms by the end of January.

However, since then, the company has decided to prioritise local right-hand-drive remanufacturing of the Ram 1500 DS Series ‘Classic’ (pictured below), for which Ram Trucks Australia is holding close to 900 backorders.

Once those orders are met, the Melbourne conversion facility will ramp up assembly of the 2021 Ram 1500 DT Series.

Price and details are yet to be confirmed, however we published all the information from the dealer bulletin here. At the bottom of that story we also compared the sales figures of the Ford F-250 and F-350 from the early 2000s with the recent sales success of the Ram pick-ups.

Meanwhile, Ram Trucks Australia is yet to confirm local plans for the supercharged TRX edition, however CarAdvice understands two examples have been sent to Australia for early evaluation.

If the project gains approval, it is possible Ram Trucks Australia will initially import a limited batch of 200 or so examples of the supercharged TRX edition.
