2021 Kia Carnival prices revealed

Pricing for the 2021 Kia Carnival has been released, ahead of the model's imminent arrival in local showrooms.

Details published on Kia Australia's website reveal the new-generation, eight-seater people mover will touch down on Australian shores with a choice of four variants and two engine options, with prices ranging from $46,880 before on-road costs for the cheapest Carnival S petrol variant, to $66,680 plus on-roads for the flagship Platinum diesel.

As is the norm for new Kia models, national drive-away pricing will be offered with the new Carnival from launch, taking the aforementioned prices to $50,390 drive-away and $69,990 drive-away respectively.

Prices have risen consistently across the range compared to the outgoing Carnival, with petrol variants up $3690 (excluding on-road costs), while diesel models have been hit with $3190 rises.

Buyers will continue to have the choice of four variants – S, Si, SLi and Platinum – each with a choice of petrol or diesel power.

As reported in November 2020, petrol-powered models feature a 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated V6 developing 216kW of power and 355Nm of torque (up 10kW/19Nm over the outgoing model's 3.3-litre mill), while diesel variants employ a 148kW/440Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder (up 1kW).

Both engines send drive to the front wheels only through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

While the roster of standard equipment offered with each variant has yet to be confirmed, a filing in a government database unearthed in November revealed 17-inch alloy wheels will be fitted to entry-level grades, with higher-spec models upgrading to 18- and 19-inch units.

Available features on certain variants are expected to include leather seat trim, a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with smartphone mirroring, LED headlights and tail-lights and 'Level Two' semi-autonomous driving aids including adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
