2008 Citroen Berlingo preview

The Berlingo has always been the red headed step child of the Citroen range, ungainly, awkward, and never really fitting in with the rest of the family. But the new C4 Picasso based van is set to change all that.

To be sold along side the current model (which will now be called Berlingo First), the new Berlingo is bigger, more stylish and considerably more practical with a 10 per cent  increase in load volume (3.0 to 3.3 cubic metres) and 6 per cent gain in payload (from 800 to 850kg).

Set to arrive in Australia in May this year, Berlingo will be joined by the smaller Turkish-built Nemo and will be followed later this year by the Dispatch van (think Hiace /Hyundai  iLoad size).

Berlingo will be available as either a dedicated commercial van or a multi-use people mover (with removable rear seats) in Europe though at this stage Ateco has no places for the MPV here preferring a "wait and see" approach. Pricing as yet is not confirmed.
