Subaru confirms fully-electric Evoltis SUV for Europe

Subaru has confirmed its upcoming fully-electric Evoltis SUV will be launched in Europe.

The Subaru Evoltis is based on Toyota's e-TNGA architecture, and is expected to be a twin under the skin to Toyota's electric SUV.

"Subaru today confirmed the company is preparing for the launch of a full electric vehicle," the statement read.

"Scheduled for introduction in the first half of 2020’s, Subaru’s all-electric vehicle will be a mid-size SUV, similar in size to the Subaru Forester model. It will be built on a platform shared with Toyota."

Only last week, Toyota made a similar declaration, telling media the company would be previewing its mid-size SUV in the coming months.

Images of the Subaru shared striking similarities with patent filings from Toyota, with Russian website Kolesa creating a render (top) based on images already shared so far.
