2021 Mitsubishi new cars

Mitsubishi is set to welcome a new mainstay SUV to the range in 2021, and expand its PHEV range.

With overall sales down by almost a third in 2020, Mitsubishi will be no doubt he hoping for a turnaround in 2021. While updates to the Eclipse Cross SUV, and Outlander PHEV in late 2020 helped maintain momentum, 2021 should see some bigger introductions.

By far the most significant of these will be an all-new Outlander, replacing the family-sized current model that's been around (and updated numerous times) since 2012. Mitsubishi has begun an official teaser campaign in the lead up to a February 2021 reveal, with an on sale date set for the third quarter of 2021.

The Eclipse Cross range will also add a new variant in 2021 with the addition of a plug-in hybrid model. Like the Outlander PHEV before it, the plug-in Eclipse Cross will provide a mainstream alternative to prestige plug-in models, though by the time it reaches Australia, it will have to face-off against the Ford Escape plug-in hybrid.
