2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series spy shots

This one was sitting outside an AMG garage looking like its had more than its far share of steroids. It features huge pumped guards, like the CLK Black Series, although they aren't quite finished yet. These are made from aluminium by the looks of it too, instead of the usual fibre glass often used on race-type cars.

The bottom sill panel is just waiting for a large extension to be moulded and welded on to suit the guards. Bigger wheels are also likely to accommodate the widened track. Our spy photographers say once the AMG guys saw them shooting the car, they quickly wrapped up it up and placed it into the back of a truck.

As with the CLK Black, this C63 is said to offer more power than the normal AMG version and will come equipped with a hand built 6.2-litre V8 twisting out around 380kW of power. It'll be backed by the seven-speed Speedtronic gearbox.

It's also said to feature bigger ceramic disc brakes and a load of revisions aimed at reducing the car's overall weight. Reports say the C63 AMG Black should go on sale some time in 2012. Can't wait for full details. We'll be sure to keep you updated.
