Kia’s sales up worldwide, but market share dips slightly in Australia

Kia registered 256,019 new car sales internationally during the month of November, up 2.0 per cent from this time last year despite the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

Australia accounted for 2.1 per cent of these sales, with the Korean brand capturing 5.8 per cent of the local market.

This is down 0.3 per cent, from a market share of 6.1 per cent in Australia during November, 2019.

The Sportage mid-sized SUV topped Kia’s global sales – with 35,930 units shifted – however the smaller Cerato reigned supreme Down Under, where it was the 11th best-selling vehicle outright.

Kia was the sixth most successful brand in Australia throughout the month by volume, with only Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Ford, and Mitsubishi clocking more sales.
