Volvo Car Australia announces new Managing Director

Volvo has announced Stephen Connor will take the reins in the new year.

Volvo Car Australia will have a new boss come January, with the company today announcing Stephen Connor as its new Managing Director.

From 1 January 2021, Stephen Connor will take over the top job from Nick Connor (no relation), who will relocate to Shanghai to serve as Volvo's Head of Asia Pacific.

Stephen Connor steps up from his role as Sales Director with Volvo Car Australia, and brings more than two decades of experience across Australia, the UK, and the Middle East, working with brands such as Kia and Volkswagen.

"Stephen has a wealth of car industry experience in Australia and the UK and a proven track record in sales, strategy and market planning," said Volvo Car's regional boss, Xiaolin Yuan.

Since taking his leadership role in 2017, Nick Connor has helped Volvo achieve consistent double-digit growth.

"I am confident [Nick's] experience and leadership will bring great value to the continued growth of the region," said Mr Yuan.

"We look forward to Stephen taking the Australian business to the next level."
