Ford reveals limited-edition MS-RT R120 Transit

WRC-related firm plans to offer just 30 versions of its modified Ford Transit Connect.

Ford's UK-based modification partner MS-RT has revealed its limited-edition R120.

Based on the Ford Transit Connect – Ford's small van that competes internationally against Volkswagen Caddy, Renault Kangoo and Peugeot Partner – the R120 will be offered with the choice of short or long wheelbase, in either two or three seat capacity, and with either a manual or automatic transmission.

MS-RT is planning to produce 30 examples of its R120 van. All will be built with a panel-van body type, with customers able to configure other elements.

Like the body type, the vehicle's specification and equipment will be predetermined by MS-RT. All R120 vans will be finished in 'Frozen White', and feature a black and red decal kit.

Other exterior upgrades include a set of OZ Racing wheels, a quad-exhaust system and black mirror caps.

The interior receives a similar racy treatment. The R120 features leather seats with red stitching, and a new carbon fiber sports steering wheel.

Other standard highlights include dual-sliding doors, a rear reversing camera, wireless charging, and Ford's latest smart infotainment system, 'FordPass'.

Interestingly, MS-RT offers an artificial sound generation system, made by German brand Maxhaust, as an option. This app-based system allows the driver to adjust the level of simulated exhaust sound generated by the R120's speakers.

The MS-RT R120 will be sold in the UK and North Ireland markets, and is expected to be priced from £25,995 (AU$46,440).

CarAdvice currently understands that Ford Australia has no current plans to introduce the Ford Transit Connect in Australia.
