Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini: Italian icons partner to build limited-edition superbike
Lamborghini and Ducati have teamed up to design a limited-edition superbike based on the Diavel 1260 S.
Just 630 examples of the two-wheeler – called the Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini – will be produced.
Design inspiration was drawn from the green and gold Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 hybrid, which was unveiled to much fanfare in 2019.
The special-edition bike appears to be mechanically identical to the standard Diavel, with the new bike producing the same 119kW/129Nm from its 1.2-litre two-cylinder 'Testastretta' powerplant.
That's still enough to launch it from zero to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds – 0.3 seconds faster than the far-heavier, more powerful Sián.
No pricing details have yet been announced for Australia, however local prices for the Diavel 1260 S start from $35,400 plus on-road costs.
The future of the two brands – which are both subsidiaries of the Volkswagen Group – are uncertain, with recent reports suggesting the German conglomerate could be looking to pull out of the prestige market, and offload the Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ducati marques to focus on electric vehicle development for its core brands.
