2021 Audi TTS: Power boost announced, Competition Plus and Bronze Selection editions unveiled for Europe

Updated coupe and Roadster unveiled with 10-25kW power increases, European special editions.

The 2021 Audi TTS is set to receive some updates for the European market.

Audi's mid-grade, performance-oriented TTS coupe and Roadster has received a power increase in Europe for 2021, alongside Competition Plus and Bronze Selection special editions for Europe.

The two-doors' 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine – shared with the Volkswagen Golf R, Audi S3 and other Volkswagen Group models – now produces 235kW of power and 400Nm of torque – up 10kW over outgoing European-delivered examples, and a 25kW/20Nm bump over Australian-market TTS models.

Drive is fed to all wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission – one speed more than the unit used in Australian-spec cars – and a front-biased, Haldex-type version of Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Despite the additional power, Audi claims 0-100km/h sprint times of 4.5 and 4.8 seconds for the coupe and Roadster respectively, identical to European-spec 2020 models, though 0.2 seconds quicker than Australian-delivered coupe variants (the Roadster was discontinued locally for MY19).

Top speed remains electronically limited to 250km/h.

Headlining the pair of special editions unveiled for Europe is the 2021 Audi TTS Competition Plus (pictured in red and blue).

Standard equipment on the Competition Plus – many of which are only available as options on the 'standard' TTS – includes 20-inch black alloy wheels, red brake calipers, LED headlights, magnetic ride control adaptive dampers, black Audi logo side decals, and a black finish for the fixed rear spoiler, front and rear air vent trim and Audi badging.

Inside, highlights include quilted nappa leather with red or blue contrast stitching and embossed S logos, red or blue accents for the centre console and air vents, carbon-fibre-look trim inlays, an Alcantara gear selector, and unique floor mats with contrast stitching.

Drivers grip an Alcantara/leather-wrapped, flat-bottomed steering wheel with a grey or red 12 o'clock marker, which sits in front of a standard-fit 12.3-inch 'Virtual Cockpit' digital instrument cluster.

Buyers can select from Chronos Gray, Glacier White, Tango Red or Turbo Blue exterior paint colours.

Joining the TTS Competition Plus is the Bronze Selection, an optional aesthetics package available for both standard TT and performance TTS models (pictured in grey).

The package is priced at €6190 for the TT and €4490 for the TTS, with Bronze Selection exclusives include bronze accents for the centre console, air vents and seat trims, copper contrast seat stitching, 20-inch bronze alloy wheels and bronze Audi logo decals on the side sills.

There's also a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, LED headlights and tail-lights, aluminium trim inlays, leather upholstery and a black front grille, with a gloss finish on TT models and a matte appearance for TTS variants.

The revised 2021 Audi TTS and TTS Competition Plus will go on sale in Germany in November, priced from €61,000 for the coupe and €63,700 for the Roadster.

The Bronze Selection package will become available to order in Europe in the second quarter of 2021.

Audi Australia has confirmed the special editions, along with the power boost for the 'standard' TTS, are "under evaluation" for our market.
