Nico Rosberg takes the new Rimac C_Two prototype for its first spin
The $2.8 million all-electric hypercar will, in its production form, reportedly produce 1408kW and accelerate from zero to 100km/h in less than two seconds.
Former Formula One driver Nico Rosberg tested a prototype version of the Rimac C_Two all-electric hypercar on public roads over the weekend, becoming the first person outside the Croatian manufacturer’s development team to do so.
The 2016 world champion – who in August of this year announced he had personally ordered a C_Two – described the driving experience as “unreal.”
According to company founder Mate Rimac, the prototype driven in the video produces just 80 per cent of the 1408kW/2300Nm expected from the final model.
When complete, the production variant will reportedly accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 1.97 seconds, hit a top speed of 412km/h, and have a range of 647km.
Just 150 C_Two vehicles will be built and customer deliveries were initially scheduled to begin this year, however the coronavirus pandemic has caused delays – it is unclear exactly when buyers can expect their vehicles to arrive.
All 150 cars have already been sold, however, when they were available, pricing started at US$2.1 million (approximately AU$2.8 million).
