Around the tracks: The Rock can’t fit into a Porsche Taycan

Plus, a monster Silverado 2500, a four-door Mini conversion and a Suzuki Mightyboy parody.

When we’re not creating it ourselves, the CarAdvice team spends a lot of time finding and consuming motoring content from all over the world.

Here’s a handful of the photos, articles, videos or social media posts that most caught our eye last week. Some of them are brand new, others have been online for a while.

Enjoy them – just not too much, okay?

1. The Rock being too big to fit in a Porsche Taycan

We knew Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was big, we just didn't know he was 'too large for a Porsche Taycan' big.

The actor shared an Instagram picture from the set of his new Netflix movie, Red Notice, showing him tentatively trying to get into the driver's seat of the electric sports car – before explaining his dilemma in the post caption.

"Aaaaand guess who’s too big to fit in yet another sports car and now we have to change the entire shot sequence around," Johnson wrote.

Johnson, who is reportedly 1.96m tall, said the crew had to get creative in order to eventually get the shot.

Oh, to be so ripped you can't even get in the door of a car. Must be nice.

2. This hilarious parody article about the NSW government acquiring a Suzuki Mightyboy

When the real news gets too much, it can be refreshing to turn to the fake news. No, no the controversial, conspiracy theorist kind – the comedy kind.

This week, Betoota Advocate poked fun at the ongoing scandal around the New South Wales government's controversial $53 million Sydney land deal, publishing a spoof article titled 'NSW Government Defends $6.9M Acquisition Of A 1986 Suzuki Mightyboy'.

It begins: "The Advocate can reveal that Premier Gladys Berejiklian personally approved the $6.9m purchase of the high-kilometer micro-ute before ordering her staff to destroy all evidence that the greenlight came from the Office of the Premier."

3. This German company that can turn your original Mini into a four-door car

If you're the proud owner of a classic Mini but it rarely leaves the garage because it's a) in a state of disrepair or b) can only fit both of your legs and not much else, or c) both of the above – German company Mengers will handle it!

Owned by Mini enthusiast Dierk Mengers, the Mini specialist will restore your car and turn it into a four-door, four-seat, functional daily driver.

4. This giant Silverado 2500 goes swimming

Some people have too much spare time.

Like this Indiana man, who decided to take a heavily modified Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pick-up truck to Florida and drive it into the Gulf of Mexico to see if it could float.

With its eight giant wheels, the Silverado 2500 actually put on a solid effort – but stunt itself attracted a fair bit of attention from local authorities.

5. This soothing Instagram account featuring autumn leaves and a Ford

Photographer Kyle Finn Dempsey lives a pretty idyllic life in The Berkshires, a rural region of Connecticut and Massachusetts in the United States.

Kyle has amassed 567,000 Instagram followers via his beautiful images of his blue Ford F100 set amongst the region's striking autumn leaves.

The photos are the visual equivalent of drinking a hot chocolate on a cold day and most of his followers appear to be people wishing they could quit their jobs and live a life on the road.
