LDV Deliver 9 automatic due in Australian showrooms in early 2021

The first batch of 50 LDV Deliver 9 vans equipped with automatic transmissions have sold out, but more stock is on the way.

The LDV Deliver 9 automatic van will arrive in Australia in significant numbers in early 2021 after the initial batch of 50 vehicles sold out within a month.

Manual versions of the LDV Deliver 9 remain available in showrooms however there was limited supply initially of automatic versions due to production interruptions earlier this year due to COVID-19.

Although the LDV Deliver 9 is made in China, the six-speed automatic transmission is sourced from France. Production delays in Europe had a flow-on effect on the Chinese vehicle assembly line.

New shipments of automatic versions of the LDV Deliver 9 are in production and will soon be on their way to Australia, a company representative told CarAdvice.

“We will have good supply of (LDV Deliver 9) automatics from January-February onwards,” a representative for the Australian distributor of LDV said.

“Automatic is the majority of the van market so the initial batch sold out like that, but we have more vans coming. Dealers are writing orders and we are asking customers to be patient.”

The LDV Deliver 9 is available in two wheelbase lengths (mid and long) and two roof heights (mid and high).

The LDV Deliver 9 ranges in price from $39,990 drive-away to $44,490 drive-away, depending on the model. Automatic variants are $2500 dearer than the manual equivalent.

Because of the size and category of vehicle, the LDV Deliver 9 falls outside of ANCAP crash testing criteria, however all models are equipped with six airbags, lane departure warning (though not lane keeping), a roof mounted rear camera, and rear parking sensors.
