2021 Ford Everest price and specs: Back to Basecamp, Sport goes RWD

Ranger-based seven-seater gains new variants and a new grille for the 2021 model year.

  • 2021 Ford Everest range priced from $50,990
  • BaseCamp returns for 2021 with off-road extras
  • Sport variant now available with RWD
  • New grille for Trend and Titanium

Ford's Everest ute-based, seven-seat SUV has received a raft of tweaks for 2021, including the addition of two new variants to bolster its existing four-strong range.

Available in local showrooms from December, the "MY21.25" range will mark the return of the off-road-oriented BaseCamp special edition, returning for the new year as a limited production run of 450 vehicles.

Based on the Everest Trend 4x4 variant, for an additional $2200 spend (up $200 over the MY20 model), the 2021 BaseCamp adds a claimed $6000 worth of accessories to "make discovering the great Australian outdoors easier": a 76mm-diameter black front nudge bar, Ford-branded LED light bar and snorkel, black roof-mounted carry bars, a roof-mounted Pioneer platform, a Sunseeker awning, and a towbar.

Other upgrades include BaseCamp decals on the front doors, plus a grey finish for the front grille, front and rear skid plates, front quarterpanel vents and alloy wheels.

Mirroring the Trend variant on which it is based, buyers have a choice of two engines: a 147kW/470Nm 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel matched to a six-speed automatic, or a 157kW/500Nm 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder diesel paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The maximum weight rating on the towbar depends on the engine selected, with the 3.2-litre and 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo mills rated at 3000kg or 3100kg respectively.

A full suite of safety technologies is on offer for Everest BaseCamp customers, include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, auto high-beam, driver attention monitoring, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

The mid-spec Everest Sport is now available in rear-wheel-drive form for 2021, joining the four-wheel-drive variant initially announced in 2019. Powered by the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel as standard, the Everest Sport can be differentiated from its range-mates by 20-inch black alloy wheels, 'SPORT' side and rear graphics, a 3D 'EVEREST' bonnet badge, soft-touch dashboard with blue contrast stitching, a 3100kg-rated towbar, and a black finish for the mesh grille, front and rear bumpers, tailgate trim, roof rails and side mirrors.

For 2021, Everest Trend and Titanium variants score the chrome-trimmed, grey mesh grille unveiled for Thai-market Everest models last week, with Australian-delivered Titanium models also picking up chrome, 3D 'EVEREST' lettering across the edge of the bonnet.

The 2021 Ford Everest range, including the BaseCamp and Sport RWD, will arrive in Australian showrooms in December 2020, with drive-away pricing available on all variants from launch. A five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty is standard across the range.
