Porsche has launched its 'Unseen' series, giving a glimpse into an array of design studies and concept cars created by its designers between 2005 and 2019, but never before revealed to public eyes.
A total of 15 concepts have been unveiled by the carmaker, though we've selected a handful of our favourites to focus on in this story.
Porsche 919 Street
Created in 2017, the 919 Street is pitched as a less extreme, potentially-road-legal version of its title-winning 919 Hybrid LMP1 race car.
The Street shares its dimensions and wheelbase with the successful racer, along with a number of its cab-forward design cues: large headlights and a low, short 'bonnet' up front, an LMP1-like roofline, roof-mounted shark-fin and aggressive rear diffuser.
Whereas the race car treated its rear end to a large rear wing, the 919 Street opts for a subtle bar connecting the rear wheel arches, with a full-width LED light bar integrated into its design – it's flanked by a pair of vertical aerodynamic elements with integrated LED strips.
While the silver example showcased in Porsche's images is a non-functioning clay model, the brand says a working version for the 919 Street would share its drivetrain with the Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid, consisting of a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 mated to an electric motor for a total of 662kW.
Porsche Vision Spyder
Inspired by the Porsche 550-1500 RS Spyder of 1954, the Vision Spyder is the latest – though, in the Porsche's case, not production-bound – addition to the ever-growing club of roofless, ultra-exclusive 'speedsters', joining the Aston Martin V12 Speedster, Ferrari Monza SP2 and McLaren Elva.
Up front there's a pair of vertical LED headlights sitting above a set of large, red-accented air intakes, while towards the rear highlights include a full-width LED tail-light bar, a race-inspired rear diffuser and an "ultra-modern" roll-bar.
The large-diameter, gold-hued alloy wheels appear to have been lifted off a modern 992-generation 911, while a pair of side-mounted intakes cool the car's mid-mounted engine.
Porsche Vision Renndienst
In a departure from the two-seat, mid- or rear-engined sports cars detailed above, the Vision Renndienst ("racing service" in German) was designed in 2018 as a homage to a red Volkswagen Type 2 van used as a support vehicle for Porsche's race teams in the 1960s.
Housing the "comfortable and modular cabin" is a minimalist exterior, featuring LED headlights and tail-lights, flared wheel arches with large alloy wheels, and one-box proportions with a sloping, curved windscreen.
The 904 Living Legend (pictured bottom of story) is a 900kg, carbon-fibre-bodied, mid-engined sports car based on the limited-run, ultra-efficient Volkswagen XL1's platform and powered by a high-revving motorcycle engine.

There's also a pair of 'Safari' concepts, headlined by the 911 Vision Safari, a drivable concept created in 2012 as a homage to the 911 SC Safari off-road race car of 1978, featuring lifted suspension, off-road tyres, black wheel-arch flares and a 911 GT3-derived rear spoiler.
It's joined by the Macan Safari, an off-road-oriented version of its mid-size SUV inspired by the iconic 959 Dakar racer, with three doors (compared to the production car's five-door arrangement), black 'bolt-on' wheel-arch flares and a large rear spoiler.
