2021 Toyota GR Yaris specifications revealed for Australia

The GR Yaris hot hatch will receive Toyota's Safety Sense package, premium audio, and sports seats as standard.

Equipment specifications for the 2021 Toyota GR Yaris performance hatch have been revealed for the Australian market.

During the pre-order phase Toyota kept equipment details scarce, opting to only release powertrain figures to potential customers.

Toyota's website now confirms that all cars will be equipped with its 'Safety Sense' technology package, which includes blind-spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking with daytime cyclist detection, LED headlights with auto high beam, road sign assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist.

Other items now official include a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a JBL eight-speaker sound system, DAB+ radio, micro-suede sports seats, and a head-up display.

Pricing on Toyota's website states that the GR Yaris is available nationally for $44,950 drive away, in a choice of three colours.

Terms and conditions on the website do not state that pricing is for a limited time only, or applicable to a specific number of vehicles.

CarAdvice expects pricing to remain as is for the foreseeable future, given sales have slowed since the announcement of a $5000 price increase.

According to dealer sources close to CarAdvice, vehicles have begun to arrive at retailers across the country.

Some dealerships have registered cars, and are already conducting customer test drives.
