2021 Ineos Grenadier wheels and tyres detailed
Further details of the Ineos Grenadier have been revealed through the company's online video series, with the latest instalment outlining wheels and tyres.
In keeping with the Grenadier’s utilitarian ethos, standard wheels will be a basic steel construction. They are a 17-inch diameter, with a bespoke Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tyre wrapped around them.
There will also be an 18-inch steel wheel available, along with 17 and 18-inch alloy wheel options. However, 16-inch wheels were not possible because they didn’t clear the Grenadier’s braking system.
The Bridgestone Dueler tyres have a unique compound to suit the Grenadier, and the construction has been modified to suit laden steering performance.
There will also be the option to upgrade to a more aggressive BF-Goodrich all-terrain tyre, for those chasing extra off-road grip.
While the Grenadier’s interior remains unfinished, the video states it will be ready to be revealed in a few weeks time.
This video comes after Ineos confirmed the use of BMW 3.0-litre diesel and petrol engines, along with a ZF 8HP eight-speed automatic transmission.
Details of the Grenadier’s suspension, using live axles and coil springs, have also been revealed.
The new Ineos Grenadier is slated to be released in 2021, although Australia will likely have to wait until 2022 for the Defender-inspired off-roader to arrive.
