Jeep partners with Empty Esky to support bushfire-affected communities

A new website has been launched by not-for-profit organisation Empty Esky, with the idea of supporting bushfire-affected communities.

The new website – created with the financial help of Jeep Australia – provides pre-made itineraries for those wanting to take a road trip to regional areas, ranging from single day trips from capital cities to three day driving holidays.

Users are also able to create a completely customised trip on the website via an interactive map, before it is emailed through.

The organisation encourages people to bring an empty Esky with them, filling it with local produce and providing economic support to those communities.

With metropolitan Melbourne enjoying easing restrictions, residents can spend a day visiting the Victorian High Country, drive The Great Ocean Road, or take a weekend to explore the Lakes Entrance district.

Itineraries are also available for those in Sydney and Brisbane looking to support regional tourist towns which have struggled through bushfires and a pandemic.

Empty Esky co-founder Eleanor Baillieu says the new website allows people to connect with regional businesses: "With Jeep’s support, we were able to completely revamp the website making it much easier for adventurers and local businesses to navigate and develop their own trips".

Jeep Australia boss Kevin Flynn added his support: "If it is safe to do so, we really want to encourage all Australians to enjoy the beautiful land in which we live and ensure small businesses can revive and prosper".
