The facelifted 2021 Jaguar E-Pace gets some impressive new technology, alongside a $1170 price increase at the bottom end.
Externally, the compact Jaguar SUV now has a lower aperture, new grille, updated LED headlights, and a few subtle tweaks at the rear.
Interior upgrades include a new Pivi Pro infotainment system and a 11.4-inch curved-glass touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard.
Meanwhile, a cabin air ionisation system – with PM2.5 filtration – can be optioned.
Earlier this month CarAdvice reported that the next generation of JLR interiors would utilise materials made from recycled plastic waste, however, according to a spokesperson for the brand, this model does not.
Jaguar’s intelligent all-wheel drive system is, however, standard across the range, and power is derived from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine in all models. The D180s diesel option has been retired from the line-up.
The 2.0 litre engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic, and, in the entry-level R-Dynamic variants, produces 184kW/365Nm.
The flagship 300 SPORT model incorporates a 48V mild-hybrid system, and makes 221kW/400Nm.
The extra 37kW and 35Nm help propel the top-spec model from zero to 100km/h in a respectable 6.9 seconds.
A 3D surround camera system, adaptive cruise control, blind spot assist, rear collision monitor, rear traffic monitor, traffic sign recognition and an adaptive speed limiter are featured standard.
According to the manufacturer, updates to the Transverse Architecture – which also underpins the the second-generation Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque – improve handling and comfort.
The R-Dynamic SE P250 variant has come down in price by $232, while the R-Dynamic HSE P250 has increased by $2348.
The first deliveries are expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2021.
