2021 GMC Hummer EV pre-order slots gone within 10 minutes
The all-electric 2021 GMC Hummer EV has reportedly filled every pre-order place within just 10 minutes of last week’s high-profile reveal – although, securing a slot likely required more speed than wealth.
Priced from US$112,595 (approximately AU$160,000), 'thousands of examples' of the Edition 1 pick-up were secured with a deposit of US$100 (AU$140).
Currently only available in the American market, the Hummer EV will eventually be offered in dual-cab pick-up and SUV configurations.
Factory production will commence in 2021, at the manufacturer's ZERO plant in Detroit.
The flagship model – according to the manufacturer – will produce 735kW and 2033Nm.
A stomach-wrenching 0-60mph (97km/h) time of just 3.0 seconds is also claimed, while the EV will reportedly have a driving range of more than 560km from its 200kWh battery.
When it comes to recharging, GM says its 350kW high-speed system will deliver a driving range of 160km in just 10 minutes.
It is unlikely the Hummer EV will be sold in Australia any time soon, however, if it does, the truck will almost certainly slot into the GMSV line-up.
