Citroen's parent company, PSA - Peugeot/Citroen - has announced it will be production a large flagship model for introduction into the Chinese market.
According to reports, the new large luxury sedan Citroen is thinking of introducing into China will be heavily based on the Citroen Metropolis concept that we first saw in China earlier this year.
Rumoured to be called the Citroen DS9, Citroen is hoping to take on other popular luxury giants in the market such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
It's unknown what the specifications list will look like; in concept form the Metropolis featured a V6 hybrid powertrain - it's unlikely that this will be the engine package Citroen will use. Speculation points to Citroen using one of its existing packages from the C5 or C6.
It's also unknown if the DS9 will make it out of China or down to Australia. We'll keep you posted or course.
