2019-2020 Volkswagen Crafter van recalled for faulty window fitment

Volkswagen Australia has issued a recall of 45 examples of its Crafter van with Model Years from 2019 to 2020 (MY19-MY20) due to a fault with window fitment.

The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says affected vehicles "could allow water into the vehicle and could even fall off the vehicle".

Vehicles were sold between 1 July 2018 and 29 September 2020. Volkswagen is contacting owners to organise a repair, free of charge.

A spokesperson for Volkswagen Australia says there have been no major incidents related to the recall locally.

A full list of vehicle identification numbers of the 45 Crafter vans involved in the recall can be found here.
