Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport – Driven

When we drove the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 in 2008 in France at just on 300km/h, we came away with our collective senses in meltdown mode.

This was a proper definition of ‘Warp Drive’. Here was a car with so much power that it could scare the bejesus out of anyone other than a current F1 pilot.

It wasn’t so much the 300km/h we were doing, it was the fact that the accelerator pedal was only half way deployed, and there was still so much left to exploit, provided of course, you had the courage (read balls) to leave your foot on the right pedal for more than a few seconds.

So it’s understandably difficult for us to fathom, why anyone in their right mind, would be asking for more performance than what the standard Bugatti Veyron already offers.

That said our UK based colleague, Kevin Hackett, has just driven the Super Sport version of the Veyron and believes his senses have been utterly violated by the experience.
