UPDATE: There is little left to be seen of the new-look 2021 Nissan Navara, thanks to the spy photos and leaked promotional images below – but once it has left the station, the teaser train must go on.
An official teaser has appeared on Nissan Australia's social media profiles today, offering a shadowy look at the Navara's facelift, along with a short history lesson on the company's ute game.
When the restyled Navara debuts on November 5 and goes on sale early in the new year, it will be rolling into its sixth year on the hugely competitive ute market.
Although not confirmed, we expect the next-generation Navara – based on the next Mitsubishi Triton – to debut around 2024.

As revealed in May, Mitsubishi will take the lead in ute development for the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance. It was originally believed the new Navara would essentially be a Triton with a Nissan nose – as we see with the new D-Max and its BT-50 clone.
However, Nissan moved quickly – issuing a new statement the very next day – to confirm buyers can expect a more unique look to the next Navara.
In this respect, the process may be more like the passenger car world, where sister brands will wear unique styling but share a common architecture beneath.
October 19: The 2021 Nissan Navara has yet again been leaked without camouflage, this time revealing higher model grades for the upcoming ute.
These are the first images of the Nissan ute that display its quad-LED headlights, which feature the brand's signature boomerang daytime-running lights.
Just last week, images of what appeared to be an entry-level Nissan Navara surfaced, fitted with standard halogen headlights.
It's expected Nissan will be launching the new Navara in a matter of weeks, with some of these leaked photos looking to have come from the company's own marketing material.
The leaked images show an overseas variant of the Navara, badged as the Frontier in other markets.
A brand-new Frontier is expected to be released in the US in the near future, but this model will be sold separately as an entirely different pick-up for that market.
The new 2021 Navara will be a heavily-facelifted, mid-life update of the current vehicle on sale. While no details on the powertrain are known at this stage, it's expected the model will retain the 2.3-litre turbo diesel, with the Warrior thought to be getting the more potent twin-turbo version of the engine.
CarAdvice revealed 12 new models are planned by Nissan, including a Navara Warrior. Click on any of the images in this story to see the full gallery of leaked photos.
