Days after the first images appeared, a video has now emerged of what is suspected to be the new (even more) hardcore 2021 Toyota GRMN Yaris.
Sporting an aero package with a large rear wing – reminiscent of its Yaris World Rally Car cousin – as well as vented front guards and more aggressive front spoiler, the prototype was seen testing alongside the recently-unveiled Toyota GR Yaris.
Seeing the GRMN testing at Germany's famous Nurburgring makes sense, as GRMN is literally short for 'Gazoo Racing Meister of Nurburgring'.

At the unveiling of the prototype Toyota GR Yaris in December 2019, Chief engineer of Gazoo Racing, Naohiko Saito, stated he was open to the idea of a GRMN Yaris.
But this isn't the first GRMN we've seen, with the company rolling out a previous-generation GRMN Yaris with a 1.8-litre Corolla engine in mid-2019 – perhaps testing the market's appetite.
With the upcoming 2021 Toyota GR Yaris producing 200kW/370Nm from its 1.6-litre turbo three-cylinder engine – the most powerful three-cylinder engine ever offered in a production car – it's likely there will be an emphasis on weight, rather than power, if the GRMN does come to fruition.
DRIVEN: Toyota GR Yaris prototype review

During its run at the Nurburgring, on a day reserved for manufacturer testing, the Yaris shared the track with the upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Golf R and a camouflaged 2021 BMW M4.
The first of the thousand 2021 Toyota GR Yaris models sold in the initial $39,950 drive-away promotion are expected to begin deliveries to customers in November.
Toyota is now offering the model at $44,950 drive-away for the next 100 orders.
